Benjamz has brought his catalogue to Radio Naija with IllBEAT RADIO, a dedicated station available on Radio9ja.com. Instead of choosing one release and stopping there, listeners can press Play and explore a shuffled sequence of his music from the connected Benjamz YouTube catalogue.

From the producer’s catalogue to a station

The starting point was a practical one: give the catalogue its own listening destination. IllBEAT RADIO connects the owner-supplied Benjamz channel to a station page inside Radio Naija, with a player, station artwork and links into the wider radio directory. The music remains with the connected playback source; this is not a new terrestrial FM frequency.

There is no fixed running order shared by everyone. Each listener gets a shuffled session. That gives returning listeners another route through the catalogue, rather than treating the page as a single-song promotion.

What is in the library?

The configured catalogue includes SYSTEMATIC, HERITAGE, IGBO HIGHLIFE!!, SOUL TRAIN and Amapiano Aura. These releases offer different starting points; they are not a promise that a particular track will be next. Directory labels include Afrobeats, R&B and highlife.

Listeners who know one Benjamz track can explore other selections without choosing another album manually each time. Individual tracks remain subject to the source platform’s availability and regional playback rules.

A station identity between the music

IllBEAT RADIO has its own greetings and station idents. The production library includes Nigerian English, Nigerian Pidgin and Igbo scripts that name the station and welcome listeners without pretending everyone is in the same city or time zone.

These greetings belong to the IllBEAT station configuration, rather than being presented as the identity of unrelated broadcasters. Catalogue playback here does not mean every station in Radio Naija’s directory carries Benjamz’s music.

The producer behind the name

Benjamz is a Nigerian producer from Enugu. Reporting by The Guardian in April 2021 describes his work on Burna Boy’s Grammy-nominated African Giant album and the Recording Academy recognition associated with that contribution. That background is separate from this radio launch: the older reporting is not evidence of a radio announcement made in 2021.

IllBEAT RADIO puts his own catalogue at the centre of a listening destination. This is a first-party announcement from Radio Naija about its station, not independent press coverage. It does not claim an exclusive distribution agreement or an award for the station.

How to listen on your phone or computer

You can also add Radio Naija to a supported phone’s home screen. If a selection is unavailable, try again or return later; browser permissions and the connected platform can affect playback.

Explore beyond one station

IllBEAT RADIO sits alongside the wider Nigerian station directory. Explore genres, discover other broadcasters and return to the Benjamz catalogue whenever you want a different session.
